If you plan to travel to or from Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) Terminal 5, please note that from 02/27/2023, rideshare companies like Uber and Lyft do not provide pickup services from this terminal.
For pickups at Terminal 5, you can still use Ride In Bliss's prearranged black car service. After you collect your baggage, please call or text your driver that you're ready and proceed to the lower level to door 5D. Your driver will arrive within 5 to 10 minutes to pick you up.
Why Uber and Lyft don't pick up at Terminal 5
The City of Chicago requires all ride-sharing pickups to occur in a designated area called the "Ride App Pickup Zone. "The Ride App Pickup Zone for Uber and Lyft moved from Terminal 5 to Terminal 2. By doing so, the Chicago Department of Aviation is trying to reduce congestion in the lower-level arrival lanes at O'Hare.
This change only affects Uber and Lyft pickups at Terminal 5. You can use a private car or limo service at every terminal of O'Hare Airport.
Terminal 5 is mainly for international flights, but since October 2022, it has included some domestic flights with Delta and Southwest.
